Friday 19th May was a truly wonderful day, thanks to everyone involved. My thanks to all those who came to remember David: our families, former colleagues and friends from afar as well as friends and neighbours from East Stour. I think that in his modesty David would be amazed at the number of people who came together to celebrate his life and the lovely memories each person shared.
My thanks, also, to Keith Shirland for conducting the ceremony and to Suzanne and all her colleagues from Southern Co-operative who helped to make this day unique - especially the drivers who battled through that hailstorm and Richard who waited so patiently until we emerged from the Pen Mill and drove us safely home.
From Ann and our entire extended family.

Thoughts about David: the man who told me that my own father had died and the man I could depend on like a father ever since. David, you will be remembered for your strength, your wit and your kindness. Also for your love of style, fine wine and food - you will be there with every bottle of soave and every roast potato!
With much love, deep sadness and fond memories.

David was such a lovely, lovely man. I am sorry that you moved so far away from us and we did not see much of you in the last few years, but we have lovely memories to cherish.
